A 22-year-old from St. Cloud is facing charges after police say she caused a crash with injuries while driving drunk last month.

Mankato Police say Nuamin Chebbsi hit a cement post on Riverfront Drive near Liberty Street and flipped over. There was a male passenger in the car, who witnesses said was initially unconscious when they arrived at the scene. He suffered a head injury.

Several witnesses who came upon the crash told investigators that Chebbsi was pulled from the driver’s seat of the overturned car.

Although Chebbsi claimed she had not been drinking, the criminal complaint shows a blood test taken at the hospital showed a .13 blood-alcohol level.

She had just a learner’s permit.

Preliminary charges include criminal vehicular injury, criminal vehicular operation causing bodily harm, two counts of drunk driving, and driving without a valid license.
