Two people from Vernon Center are facing drug charges after trying to evade a Blue Earth County Sheriff’s Deputy who attempted to pull their vehicle over because the registered owner’s license was revoked.
The deputy says that people in the vehicle appeared to make furtive movements in the car before eventually stopping on a back road.
The criminal complaint shows that 22-year-old Hunter Smith and 24-year-old Jennah Walters claimed they turned down a gravel road not to avoid the deputy but because they didn’t want to encounter heavy traffic. They were stopped not long after midnight on a Monday morning.
A search of the vehicle turned up two syringes, which tested positive for meth, a metal one-hitter, and a glass pipe.
At the jail, investigators say Walters was found to have a condom containing a couple of baggies of meth concealed in her crotch area.
