The New Ulm Police Department is investigating the death of a pedestrian at the intersection of 6th North Street and Broadway.
Police say the pedestrian was hit by a car shortly after 4:00 p.m. and was taken to the hospital but did not survive.
Minnesota State Patrol is helping with the investigation and says the 63-year-old man was hit by an SUV driven by a 48-year-old woman from New Ulm. Their names are expected to be released Friday afternoon.
It’s the second such incident in New Ulm in just over one month. At the end of September, a car versus pedestrian crash at 12th South and Broadway killed 70-year-old Roger Saxton of New Ulm.
The vehicle that hit him was driven by 20-year-old Blake Jarve, also from New Ulm.
