A 22-year-old Mankato woman is facing charges after a scuffle with police that took place after a child protection worker attempted to remove her two children from the home when she tested positive for meth.

Mankato Police say Tavia Gabler followed an officer from the home as he tried to hand off the children to the child protection worker, came at him with arms flailing, and, eventually, he took her to the ground.

The criminal complaint states that Gabler “violently” resisted arrest and also kicked the officer in the knee.

Preliminary charges include assaulting an officer and obstructing the legal process.
