A homeless man found sleeping in the breezeway outside the Mankato Department of Public Safety last week told investigators he was there because it was cold and he had nowhere to go but officers say he soon got defensive and said he was sick of being followed by law enforcement…and was quickly reminded that he had been sleeping in the doorway of the police station.

The criminal complaint shows that there was a warrant out for the arrest of Scott Hoeft and he was taken into custody. A search of his belongings turned up a glass pipe that tested positive for meth and syringes and after arriving at the justice center investigators found a baggie of pills – some of which turned out to be Clonazepam.

He is facing two counts of drug possession, and one of possessing syringes.
