State Democrats and Republicans are at odds over the just-released House DFL tax plan. House Minority Leader Kurt Daudt says DFL tax hikes will “wreak havoc on Minnesota family budgets.”

But Democratic Representative Paul Marquart of Dilworth says the plan would reduce taxes for most Minnesotans and puts the state in good shape to comply with federal tax changes…”it’s going to make it a lot easier for citizens to navigate through a very complex tax code, in fact, the data that we have is that if this bill becomes law, 93% of all Minnesota taxpayers will file the standard deduction.”

Republicans are calling the DFL plan “disastrous” for the state’s economy.
