US Postal Service carriers are once again planning to collect non-perishable food items on their routes tomorrow as a part of Stamp Out Hunger. Kristy Anderson with the postal service says this is the largest one-day food drive in the country and they like to keep donation as easy as possible for everyone.

“Set it out in a bag by your mailbox and a carrier will come by and pick them up. All donations actually stay in the community. We donate them to the local food banks in each community.”

Anderson says last May the drive brought in more than 71-million pounds nationwide headed into a crucial time for families struggling with children as summer break hits and school meals are no longer an option.
