The public is invited to attend an open house on Tuesday, June 11 from 4 to 6 p.m. to discuss plans for the reconstruction of County State-Aid Highway (CSAH) 27. The project is located northeast of Eagle Lake from U.S. Highway 14 to CSAH 2. The open house will be held at the Blue Earth County Public Works Office at 35 Map Drive in Mankato.
Preliminary road design and environmental review information will be on display. County engineering and SRF consultant engineering staff will be available to answer questions and take comments.
The project will improve safety by enhancing horizontal and vertical curves, widening shoulders, and flattening ditch slopes. The project will also provide a smooth 10-ton axle route to better serve farm-to-market and residential traffic. Drainage will be improved by reshaping ditches and replacing deteriorated drainage pipes and tiles. Final design and right-of-way acquisition is planned for fall/winter of 2019 and early 2020, with utility relocations and reconstructing occurring in 2020.
