The Hennepin County Sheriff’s Office today is introducing a new drug abuse prevention campaign. The program comes on the heels of a recent spike in overdoses–in Hennepin County and across the state.
“The strongest tool out there is treatment, and if we can get people treated for their addiction, then the chances of saving their lives frankly are far higher.”
Rob Allen with the Hennepin County Sheriff’s Office. The program is called “Survival Through Overdose Prevention” or STOP and it aims to keep drugs out of the wrong hands and to treat those with opioid use disorder in the state’s jails.
