The University of Minnesota football team faces off tonight against FCS opponent South Dakota State at TCF Bank Stadium at 8pm. The Gophers are coming off a 7-6 record including impressive wins against Fresno State, Purdue, in Wisconsin, and their bowl game against Georgia Tech. The most notable win of the season, in my opinion, was the 37-15 victory for Paul Bunyan’s Axe. That win snapped Wisconsin’s 14 game winning streak between the 2 rivals. However, the Gophers have faced the SDSU Jackrabbits 6 times and defeating them in every time, most recently in 2009 when they squeaked by a 16-13 victory. The Gophers also have won 15 straight and 19 of their last 20 non-conference games which is the longest active streak in the nation. Vegas bet line sees the Gophers as 16 point favorites.
