Minnesota Timberwolves center, Karl-Anthony Towns, has received an unpaid two-game suspension after a physical altercation with Philidelphia 76ers center Joel Embiid.
The fight happened during the third quarter of the matchup between the Timberwolves and the 76ers on Wednesday night. Towns and Embiid engaged in the physical altercation, ending in the two wrestling each other to the floor. Embiid has also been put on a two-game suspension without pay.
Kiki VanDeWeghe, Executive Vice President, Basketball Operations, announced the suspensions Friday. She noted in her announcement that it was not just the physical altercation that led to the unpaid suspension of the two players, but their continuation to escalate the incident further off the court.
