“I think it’s important that they continue to narrow down the cause of this deadly outbreak and we’re glad that they continue to work with health officials and epidemiologists across the nation to try to figure out what is leading to this specific outbreak”

Smith says health officials and elected leaders should also continue prevention efforts to drive down the number of youths who take up vaping. She says the most recent studies show that around one in four Minnesota high school students is using e-cigarettes regularly and the number of middle schoolers using e-cigs has almost doubled in the last three years.
