Twins fans can rejoice! Right-hander Jake Odorizzi will be staying with the Minnesota Twins for one more year. The starting pitcher accepted the clubs one year, $17.8 million offer that will make him an integral part of the 2020 season.
It isn’t hard to see why. With a 3.51 ERA, 3.36 FIP, and 178 SO in 2019, Odorizzi is one of the most impressive pitchers the club has seen. By accepting this offer Odorizzi has now become the first, and only player to ever accept a qualifying offer from the Minnesota Twins since the program began in 2012.
The playoffs are starting to look less like a dream and more like a possibility for us Twins fans.
