Saturday night (Nov. 23), the Minnesota State Mavericks men’s hockey team beat the Alaska Anchorage Seawolves 3-0 in a Western Collegiate Hockey Association game. The game took place at the Mankato Civic Center in Mankato, MN, at 6:07 PM.

There were no goals scored in the first period of the game, but that changed in the second period. The Maverick’s scored their first goal of the game towards the end of the second period. Senior captain Marc Michaelis scored the first goal.

The second and third goals were both scored during the third period of the game. Junior defensemen, Connor Mackey, scored the second goal of the game during the third period and junior center, Jared Spooner, scored the third and final goal of the game also in the third period with only 19 seconds left in the game.

Minnesota State’s next hockey games will be on Friday and Saturday (Nov. 29 and 30) in Duluth, MN, for a nonconference series.
