The Timberwolves were one of D’Angelo Russells biggest suitors before he signed with the Warriors last summer. The Wolves infatuation with him has continued as they are in talks to be apart of a three-team trade in hopes of acquiring him.

Timberwolves forward Robert Covington is one of the most sought after players as the deadline approaches and is expected to be traded before Thursday. The Wolves are reportedly asking for two first-round draft picks in return. The Wolves are discussing a trade that centers around Covington, Houston Rockets center Clint Capela, and the Atlanta Hawks. Covington would go to Houston, Capela to the Hawks, and the Hawks would send either draft picks or forward John Collins to the Wolves.

The Warriors are asking for multiple draft picks in return for Russell. The Wolves are hoping a Covington trade will get them enough assets to get a deal done.
