Minnesota Secretary of State Steve Simon and state lawmakers will announce a bill in St. Paul today (WED 12pm ) that addresses the presidential nomination primary and voter privacy. Simon says right now there are no apparent restrictions on what political parties can do with voter data from the primary…

“What can they do with it, who can they give it to, who can they sell it to and so our office will have legislation on day one of the legislative session to correct that, to impose some common sense sort of guard rails on what the parties do with it once they get it.”

Early voting for the presidential primary has already begun in Minnesota. The primary is set for March 3rd.
