Minnesota Governor Tim Walz is expressing doubt that Minnesota students will return to their school buildings this year. Walz says many other states have canceled classes for the year.

“I think there’s a relatively strong possibility that will happen here too,” said Walz. “I think the chance of being able to gather back at school is relatively slim.”

The state began distance learning Monday. Department of Education director Heather Mueller says as for graduation ceremonies they’re encouraging local districts to make local decisions on how to handle those events.
