The Centers for Disease Control is now recommending Americans wear a mask over their face to prevent the spread of COVID-19. Jan Malcom, director of the Minnesota Department of Health, says there’s something to remember.

“People who are sick need to stay home and remain isolated,” said Malcom. “In no way does this guidance lessen the directive to stay at home if you’re sick.”

Malcom says it’s also important to remember that wearing a mask will prevent you from spreading the virus but it does not prevent you from contracting the virus.
