Minnesota Governor Tim Walz says he understands state residents that want to return to work but he says it’s not prudent to lift the stay at home order yet.
“The facts don’t support taking this off right now,” said Walz. “No one else is doing that. No one else is suggesting we do that. Until I see different from a wide variety of sources, this is the most prudent way forward.”
Walz says he wants to re-open at the state as soon as possible but the experts are telling him not to.
“I’m tired of this. I’m frustrated by this,” said Walz. “My heart breaks for the people worried about their economic well-being. But you can’t throw caution to the wind and pretend that our neighbors’ lives are disposable.”
Wednesday, Walz extended his stay at home order, which was set to expire Friday, until May fourth.
