While state government’s focus remains on dealing with the COVID-19 pandemic, eventually lawmakers will have to focus on other issues before ending their business for the legislative session. State Senator Julie Rosen of Vernon Center expects a narrow focus of issues to be on the agenda when that time comes.

“We’ll only deal with issues that have a bipartisan agreement,” said Rosen. “We can’t put forth issues that will pass the Senate but won’t pass the house, or vice versa. I think it’s important to put forth a real good bonding bill as well.”

Lawmakers are expected to make at least a brief return to St. Paul Tuesday.
