The state of Minnesota is reporting its highest level of COVID-19 positive cases in two months Friday.

“We had 779 laboratory-confirmed positive tests yesterday,” said MDH Commissioner Jan Malcom. “This is the first time we’ve seen several days of 700 or more cases in a row since the end of May. Granted, we are testing more broadly and rigorously than we were in the spring.”

MDH Commissioner Jan Malcom says a total of 312 people are hospitalized in the state, with 151 in ICU. Malcom says those are at the highest level of hospitalizations since the end of May.
