(Oak Park Heights, MN)  —  Former Minneapolis police officer Derek Chauvin is pleading not guilty to a charge involving a confrontation with a 14-year-old in 2017.  The man convicted of murdering George Floyd appeared yesterday for a brief hearing in federal court.  Chauvin is accused of grabbing the teen by the throat, hit him in the head with a flashlight, and then held his knee against the boy’s neck while he was cuffed and not resisting.  He is currently serving a 22-year prison term for the death of Floyd.
