(St. Paul, MN) — Two Minnesota legislators are working on a bill that would offer law enforcement agencies grant money to hire and retain police officers. St. Cloud Representatives Tama Theis and Dan Wolgamott designed the legislation to also provide a tax break for two years for those who stay on the police force. The measures are designed to address police department staffing shortages due to a wave of retirements and challenges in hiring new recruits.
