The 9-8-8 mental health crisis number has been operating for a little over a month, and Sue Abderholden with NAMI (National Alliance on Mental Illness) Minnesota says there’s been a “pretty big response”:

“It is a much easier number to remember, and so we know actually nationwide the call volume is up about 45 percent.”

Abderholden says she hopes that means more people are getting the support they need, especially to prevent suicide.
