(Rochester, MN) — Minnesota Governor Tim Walz is clashing with Republican challenger Scott Jensen in their only televised debate for governor. Democrat Walz is running for his second term and defended his record, saying Minnesota has been spending more on education, healthcare and roads. Jensen criticized Walz for his record on the pandemic, crime and the civil unrest following the George Floyd murder. Early in the debate, Walz stressed his support for abortion access, and said it would be “on the ballot.” Walz and Jensen are in a close race for Minnesota governor. They will have one final debate later this month.
