St. Peter woman accused of forging tips on credit card slips at Pizza Ranch

A St. Peter woman is accused of forging several credit card charges this summer while working at the Pizza Ranch on Tullamore Street in Mankato. The restaurant's general manager told Mankato Police that several times in August and September, Emerald Bonebrake added large tips to the receipts of at least 19 customers in the span of four weeks. When confronted by management about the larger than usual amount of some of the tips, the criminal complaint shows Bonebrake said they left her the added cash because she had been flirting with them. Bonebrake is facing five counts of credit card fraud.

Two men are facing several charges after Mankato Police say they tried to pay a tow truck driver with marijuana instead of cash. The driver called police after he was dispatched by an insurance company to the Cherry Street Ramp to deliver $10 worth of gas to 22-year-old Gak Chamdak of Faribault and 19-year-old Paul Jal of Mankato. When he arrived, the driver says nobody has the money to pay for the fuel and the men offered to pay in pot instead. Blue Earth and the surrounding counties are bracing for a weekend winter storm that could first bring a coating of ice and then as much as six inches of snow. Meteorologist Megan Mulford explained that they've been tracking the storm for several days and are now certain that it will impact southern Minnesota and, "The only thing that we're kind of uncertain with is when that mixed precipitation is going to change on over into snow." Police Rule Out Foul Play in Death of Waseca Woman

Waseca Police confirmed that 62-year-old Patricia Ann Ryan of Waseca was found dead outside a home in Waseca. They have ruled out foul play as a cause of death. A final determination of her cause of death is still waiting further test results. Suspect fatally shot by officer, deputy in Bemidji

Authorities say law enforcement officers in northern Minnesota have fatally shot an armed suspect following a struggle over a gun. Police in Bemidji say the shooting happened Wednesday about 11 p.m. after an officer made a traffic stop and determined a passenger in the vehicle had a warrant for an arrest on an undisclosed allegation. Minnesota man awarded $17M in decades-old molestation case

A Minnesota man who was molested decades ago by the man who went on to abduct, sexually assault and kill Jacob Wetterling has been awarded more than $17 million. Jared Scheierl was 12 when he was molested by Danny Heinrich in 1989 in Cold Spring. In 2016, Heinrich admitted to sexually assaulting Scheierl and to abducting, molesting and killing Jacob as part of a plea deal in a federal child pornography case. Scheierl sued Heinrich.
