(Minneapolis, MN) — Lawyers for a Chicago man accused of gunning down another driver on Highway 169 are asking a judge to dismiss the case. Attorneys for Jamal Smith argued early this week in a motion that prosecutors allowed witnesses to lie during testimony. They also claim improper behavior by a juror during grand jury proceedings. The Hennepin County Attorney’s Office says it will file a written response after it reviews the motions. Smith is accused of shooting Jay Boughton on the freeway in Plymouth last July.
