Vikings Gave Riley Reiff $1M Dollar Bonus

By |2021-02-16T14:41:52-06:00February 16th, 2021|Categories: Blogs|

According to a league source, the Vikings franchise gave 32 year-old Riley Reiff a $1 million dollar signing bonus to his contract. They gave him this bonus to make up for a lost incentive Reiff would've earned back in week 17. Reiff missed the week 17 game against the Detroit Lions, due to COVID and being on the reserve list. The contract Reiff agreed to back in September, had a playing-time incentive built in. Reiff would have earned the $1 million dollar bonus if he had taken 93.75% of snaps during the 2020 season. He finished the season just barely reaching [...]

Super Bowl LV Ratings – A Disappointment

By |2021-02-09T14:08:56-06:00February 9th, 2021|Categories: Blogs|

While being in a global pandemic, Super Bowl LV was a bit off this year. Although there were some fans able to attend Super Bowl LV at the Raymond James Stadium in Tampa, the stadium was not even close to reaching capacity. Due to COVID19 guidelines, the stadium only had 22,000 fans in attendance and 7,500 vaccinated healthcare workers that the NFL invited. The stadium can hold up to over 65,000 people, so only a little over 1/3 of the stadium was full on Sunday nights matchup. Not only was Super Bowl LV unlike many others this year, because of the [...]

Super Bowl Streaker Claims He Won $374K From Super Bowl Bet

By |2021-02-09T13:29:56-06:00February 9th, 2021|Categories: Blogs|

This year's Super Bowl LV didn't just end in Tom Brady receiving his 7th Super Bowl ring. In the 4th quarter, a man in a pink leotard jumped onto the field and ran towards the goal line while escaping security. There was a rumor going on earlier in the week that this man bet on this stunt to win six figures. The guys name is Andrade and he bet $50,000 at +750 odds that there would be a streaker at Super Bowl LV, meaning he would cash out at $374,000. Andrade did have to face some jail time but his bail [...]

Super Bowl 2021 Uniforms

By |2021-02-02T15:31:05-06:00February 2nd, 2021|Categories: Blogs|

Last year we saw a red-on-red Super Bowl. This year, we thought we were going to see it again. The Tampa Bay Buccaneers had the first pick to choose the uniform colors, and they decided on wearing white jerseys during Super Bowl LV. That means the Kansas City Chiefs will have to wear the exact same thing they wore last year (red jerseys and white pants) when they won Super Bowl LIV. Do uniform colors really matter? With NFL players superstitions - yes. Before Super Bowl LIV, there has been no Super Bowl where both teams have the dominant color of [...]

LeBron James Gets Fan Kicked Out Of Lakers Game

By |2021-02-02T14:51:32-06:00February 2nd, 2021|Categories: Blogs|

Basketball super star Lebron James and the Lakers have been doing pretty well for themselves this NBA season, with a 15-6 record. This past Monday (Feb. 1)  they played against the Atlanta Hawks, and although the Hawks made it an interesting game, the Lakers pushed through. That didn't sit well with a Hawks fan sitting courtside, and they got into an argument with James and eventually got kicked out of the game by the stadium's security. Laker's broadcaster Bill Macdonald even made a joke saying it looked like an episode from Desperate Housewives. After the game, James explained that the fight [...]

Tom Brady In Another Super Bowl – Buccaneers QB Makes History

By |2021-01-26T14:55:11-06:00January 26th, 2021|Categories: Blogs|

Tom Brady is playing in his 10th Super Bowl, an occurrence that almost seems impossible before Brady entering the NFL in 2000. Before Brady, John Elway set the record for most Super Bowl appearances by a starting quarterback with 5. Brady has made 5 Super Bowl appearances since turning 37 years old, as many as Elway's career. This just shows how successful Brady truly is. He made the Super Bowl in 10 of his 21 seasons playing football (47.6% of the time.) If Brady's 5th season didn't count (he tore his ACL) it would be 50% of his career. Brady is [...]

It has been ten days since Alex Trebek's passing and the loss of the television icon is still being felt by many. Trebek hosted the show Jeopardy! for 35 years and was adored by many. To honor the late icon, Adam Thielen wore custom-made cleats during the pregame of this week's Monday Night Football game against the Chicago Bears. The cleats were designed and created by artist Dan "Mache" Gamache. Mache has made cleats for Thielen as well as many other NFL stars like Stefon Diggs and Jarvis Landry in the past and is well known for his custom creations. His [...]

It has finally happened! The Minnesota Vikings have won a game! On Sunday, October 4th, the Minnesota Vikings faced the Houston Texans. At the start of the game, both teams had a record of 0-3. Clearly, neither team has been having the season they hoped for and came into the game with hopes to turn things around. Minnesota struck first with a touchdown at the end of the first quarter. The Vikings would score another three points before the Texans would answer with their first field goal in the second quarter. The two teams would continue to go back and forth scoring [...]

NBA Announces the 2020 Playoffs Will Resume on August 29

By |2020-08-28T14:44:32-05:00August 28th, 2020|Categories: Blogs|

The past few months have been an impactful time of change across many professional sports leagues. Just about every major league in the US from the MLS to the WNBA have either made an official statement or allowed their players to perform in demonstrations to raise awareness for the current Black Lives Matter movement. This last week however, statements and demonstrations turned into strikes with the NBA leading the way in this specific form of resistance. On August 23rd, Jacob Blake, a 29 year-old Black man, was shot in the back seven times by an officer in Kenosha, Wisconsin. This act of [...]
